• ESTABLISHING A SHARED VISION FOR CHANGE

o Why does the organization have to change?
o What will the change look like?
o How can a sense of “creative tension” be articulated?
o How can the vision for the future state be communicated in a compelling way?
o How can a “guiding coalition” be built?
o How can an effective change management structure be created?
o What role will the unions play in the change management process?
o What strategies can be used to informally involve people in the change process?

• DESIGNING THE FUTURE STATE

o What specific issues need to be addressed in chartering the design team?
o What data need to be explored and clarified before effective decisions can be made about important design elements?
o How can the data collection be used to generate design needs or criteria for evaluating design options?
o How can creative and well-thought-out design options be developed?
o How can effective decisions be made about design recommendations?

• PLANNING THE CHANGE

o What is the impact of the change on systems?
o What strategies can be used to align the systems with the future state?
o How can systems impacts be monitored throughout the change process?
o What is the plan for implementing the design?
o What structure is needed for overseeing the implementation of the change?

• PLANNING THE TRANSITION

o Why is it natural to resist change?
o What is the predictable psychological process people experience when dealing with change?
o Why is it important to manage people through this process?
o What occurs in the final phase of transition?
o What strategies can be used to support people through it?
o What occurs in the second phase of transition?
o What strategies can be used to support people through it?
o What occurs during the first phase of transition?
o What strategies can be used to support people through it?

• IMPLEMENTING AND MAKING COURSE CORRECTIONS

o What strategies can be used to deal with the reality of continuous change?
o What needs to be done to keep the change implementation and transition plan on track?
o How can we identify lessons learned for the future?

Participants will receive:

This course is based on adult learning principles. Adults learn best when they actively participate and the training is related to real life examples. To this end, a variety of training approaches is used in this workshop, including: participative lecture, large and small-group discussions, structured group and individual exercises, paired share, demonstration, and self-assessment instrument.
Note: All Participants will need to accomplish the pre-work assignment before the workshop.
