Trainers are becoming increasingly accountable for delivering results-oriented instruction that address the real needs of both the organization and the participants as individuals. When money is tight, the training function must justify the return on investment . . . it must be significantly higher than the cost of training. This means that trainers must assess organizational and participant needs before designing/selecting/instructing course. And they must measure the results in terms of improved organizational and individual performance after training; end-of-course evaluation sheets are no longer enough. Several hundred tools and techniques are now available. This program acquaints trainers with some of the major ones, and explains the do’s and don’ts of conducting a professional needs analysis.
Objectives of the Program:
Upon completing this program, each participant will be able:
· To list at least a haft-dozen benefits of conducting a needs analysis;
· To indicate which of the six methods apply to their own courses;
· To describe at least a dozen tools & techniques of needs analysis;
· To design a needs analysis for a specific course.
